Speaking via Corriere della Sera, the Red Bull team principal was asked whether he worries about Verstappen’s future with the team.
Mekies, however, was quick to dismiss such concerns, stressing that as long as the team delivers a quick car, Verstappen’s continuity at the Milton Keynes outfit should not be an issue.

“For every team, with every champion, it will always be like this. The only thing that matters to Max is a fast car. We know we have to deliver, not just for him but for Red Bull. He’s completely integrated into the programme,” Mekies said.
Verstappen’s immediate future temporarily became a topical issue during the course of the 2025 season. The four-time world champion was speculated to be considering an exit from the team, with talks of a move to Mercedes being a possible option.
However, Verstappen himself quashed such rumours, reaffirming his commitment to Red Bull Racing for the upcoming season.
