RB20 makes huge impression: 'Reminds me of Schumacher's Ferrari'

Red Bull Racing seem to be the constructor to beat again this season. Although the first two free practice sessions for the Bahrain Grand Prix were not great for Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, the RB20 does seem to be the best car. Former Formula 1 driver Jarno Trulli is impressed with the car.

"It is difficult to make predictions before drivers actually take to the track. But if you look at the advantage Red Bull had over its rivals last year, it is still the car to beat. It (the RB20) reminds me of Schumacher's Ferrari of the 2000s, the absolute ruler of the circuits," Trulli told Quotidiano Nazionale.

Red Bull Racing's RB20 already impressed Formula 1 enthusiasts during the test days in Bahrain. Looking superficially at the car, it looks hugely similar to the RB19 that the Austrian constructor was dominant with. Looking further, Red Bull have chosen a whole new concept.

Red Bull had to come up with a new concept, as the team knew that many other teams would look to the RB19 for inspiration. If technical man Adrian Newey and his consorts had only focused on making the RB19 better, the competition might have had a similar car. The new concept is very similar to something Mercedes was already doing: the zeropod concept.
