Kimi Raikkonen has come out in support of Ferrari rivals Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton after they were booed ferociously at Monza after taking an unlikely win on the Scuderia's home turf.
The Finn ended up finishing a disappointing second having led most of the race but fallen into a Mercedes strategy trap and he couldn't hold off Hamilton on fresher soft tyres.
Speaking after the race, Raikkonen admitted that he felt the boo's were not sporting but that people had their own choices to make.
"I think everybody has the right to do what they feel like but I don't think it's very nice.
"I don't think it should happen. It's not my decision but it happens and that's how life is. But it's not very nice."
Hamiton added that he understood the boo's and acknowledged that they were "acceptable" but that he didn't understand why it was happening in F1 so much when compared with other sports.
"I've been to football games, NFL games, basketball games and rugby games, I've never booed a player on the opponent's team and none of my friends do either.
"So, I don't get the psyche of it. But it happens in all sports. It happens more in football and here more than I've noticed in others."
A title rival victory around Monza against Ferrari was never going to be popular, especially against Kimi Raikkonen.
