It was one of the most unpredictable races ever and Pirelli have revealed how many pitstops there were over the course of the German Grand Prix, announcing a whopping 78 stops! Yes, 78!
Lewis Hamilton and Kevin Magnussen top-scored with six pit stops each whilst race winner Max Verstappen had five. Carlos Sainz was the lowest scorer only pitting three times during the race at the Hockenheimring but still managed to finish in fifth.
Sergio Perez was the only driver to make one appearance in the pits, that being after he retired on lap one. Overall there were 78 pitstops during the German Grand Prix and Pirelli announced this on their Twitter.
