Pierre Waché, Red Bull’s technical director, believes the team’s latest floor development, introduced at Monza, can pave the way for more victories as the season heads into its closing stretch. Zandvoort was important to find that window of the car, the sweet spot.
- Pierre WacheWaché explained how the upgrade has opened up a new direction for the team’s setup work:
“I hope so. It gave us a different direction for the setup.
"Already in Zandvoort we found it, and now we have optimized around it. And I think we will see if it works for different races. So it is a good thing.”
Reflecting on Red Bull’s performance at Monza compared to the same event a year ago, Waché highlighted how far the team has come and why the recent progress matters.
“Clearly they are quick. They are there. But compared to last year, for us it was very important. Last year, we struggled here massively.
"But Zandvoort was important to find that window of the car, the sweet spot. Yes, it's true.
"But you know, Zandvoort is [run] at a different level of downforce. It looks like not for us, but this one [Monza] was a good one," he concluded.
