Perez: "We put a new package on the car and it worked straight away"

In his second year at Red Bull Racing, Sergio Perez will be looking for more wins and perhaps a chance at the world title. A good foundation is crucial to this, and according to Perez, it is certainly there.

The Mexican thinks his team has a good base car. This was also evident during the test days in Bahrain, where both Perez and teammate Max Verstappen set fast lap times.

In addition, the new regulations play a major role. How they are dealt with and how much can be improved during the season will be the key to a successful year, according to Perez. Speaking at the press conference before the Bahrain Grand Prix, he said he was impressed with the work Red Bull had done over the winter.

"We put a new package on the car and straight away it worked. That's definitely very positive," Perez says of the successful updates Red Bull brought to the final test day in Bahrain. He has also now fully found his feet at the team. "I feel a lot more comfortable knowing the team and understanding the Red Bull philosophy regarding the car," concludes Perez.
