Paul di Resta is once again competing in Le Mans 24 hours. His crash on debut last year ended his team's chances of a podium. In a conversation with Crash, di Resta says he is still suffering from the mistake.
The mistake threw a spanner in the works of the entire team, a thought that Resta is still haunted by: "What happened last year haunts me. I have never had that responsibility before. I took away the podium chances of the entire team and the other drivers."
Yet making mistakes is also part of racing according to di Resta: “I told them then that I had made a mistake, something I don't often do. I hope it doesn't happen again. On the other hand, it is true that this is part of it if you choose me as a driver, I always give the full one hundred percent. If it happens then it happens. If someone else makes a mistake then they do it. It can happen."
With just under five hours remaining, di Resta and his team [United Autosports] currently sit in P10 overall, and P5 in the LMP2 class.
