Lando Norris had a disappointing weekend after he retired from the Chinese Grand Prix, and the rookie has revealed how he felt following his lap one crash with Daniil Kvyat.
Norris was damaged when Kvyat’s Toro Rosso lost control which caused him to hit Carlos Sainz and then Norris, who was forced off the track. The Russian was given a drive-through penalty for his involvement with Norris and Kvyat retiring later in the race.
Norris made light of the incident after the race with a social media post but recalled his experience, revealing he felt like a “passenger” as his car tipped in the air.
“I thought I was going to go over,” said Norris.
“I was a passenger, and not in control of anything.

“I had to wait and hope for the best, there was quite a bit of air time, I went flying for a bit.
“All I saw was blue sky until I landed again, and then my vision came back.
“I could think again and I realised what had just happened, I didn’t know when to breathe and I lost my breath for a bit.
“It was a shock, and I was winded initially.
"It wasn’t nice,” he added.
