Lando Norris again finishes a qualification behind his
teammate. The Brit looks critically at himself again, but does not find it difficult that Oscar Piastri is getting faster. ‘’A podium maybe, a victory is
unlikely,’’ begins Norris after the qualification speaking to GPblog among others. ‘’I've made a lot of mistakes. My last lap in qualification is never good enough. Everyone gets faster and I always get slower.
It's not good enough.’’
When a half question about the car is posed,
Norris quickly ends it. ‘’No, the car is mega. It's on pole. It's the best
car on the track. It was just not me.’’
Norris blames himself
‘’I don't know to be honest. I'm not going to blame the car. It felt good all weekend. It felt good in Q1,
in Q2. I felt there was more time in it, but many things have changed since
last year. Last year, this was actually my only strength, by a large margin. This
year, it's not turning my way. I think we understand why, but of course, I'm
not happy that I'm not on pole.’’
GPblog then stated that Norris was again
defeated by
his teammate. ‘’That's correct,’’ responded the Brit bluntly, followed by
a question if this was hard for him.
‘’No, it's tough because I'm not on pole. I want to fight for pole. I know Formula 1 is tough, so maybe
you're right’’, concluded the
McLaren driver.
