More than twenty women report unwelcome behaviour in Zandvoort

After the Dutch Grand Prix, more than twenty women have indicated that they have been victims of inappropriate behaviour in Zandvoort. After misbehaviour of supporters in Austria, this is the second time that supporters are put in a bad light.

After the Austrian Grand Prix, where there were reports of sexism among the supporters, the Dutch GP has not been spared from reports of inappropriate behaviour. The NOS reports that more than twenty women claim to have been victims of unwanted behaviour. This would involve making videos, being called names and being touched on buttocks, breasts and stomachs, reports 'Formule 1 Vrouwen' founder Svenja Tillemans.

Tillemans founded Formula 1 Vrouwen, a club for female fans of the sport. Since Friday, 25 women have joined her. On the circuit, there would have been no coverage, so that the emergency number that was indicated could not be called. Women who went to the stewards were often referred to the police outside the circuit. Then you get the 'late-night effect', says Tillemans at Dutch-language news.

The police have had no reports of sexually excessive behaviour, a police spokesperson tells the same medium. A woman who reported on social media that she was assaulted by a drunk male visitor was approached by the police, but no contact has been found yet. On Sunday afternoon, a man was arrested outside the circuit for defilement.
