McLaren Group has received £200m worth of investment, which will give the F1 team a big boost in research and development of their car.
McLaren confirm in their statement that they have had an injection of £203.8m from Nidala (BVI) Limited. The company has bought more than 800,000 shares in the company.
McLaren’s statement reads: “This is new capital, which is part of the Group’s simplification over the last 12 months, will significantly strengthen the Group’s balance sheet and underpins its ambition growth plans laid out in its five-year business plan.”
McLaren has had a decent season so far, sitting only one point behind fourth placed Renault in the Constructors’ Championship.
The team is looking to return to the front of the field and Zak Brown, McLaren’s racing CEO has said: “I think our shareholders have been in the sport a long time. They completely understand the sport.
