Helmut Marko enjoyed his Dutch pupil this weekend. In qualifying Max Verstappen was already supreme and he managed to continue that line on Sunday. Verstappen crossed the finish line with a very big lead on all his competitors. It meant another big step towards his second consecutive world title.
"It was unbelievable," Marko told Viaplay. After some reliability issues in the first few weeks of the 2022 season, Red Bull seems to be a well-oiled machine. "For us the first couple of races it was just cautious. It's amazing. Max is at the moment it's the best Max we have but it's not the end I believe, we have more coming."

Marko remains cautious

Verstappen is currently 98 points ahead of Charles Leclerc in the world championship. In the constructors' standings, the Austrian formation's lead is as high as 118 points with eight GPs to go. It is an excellent starting position for the men from Milton Keynes, but Marko does not want to celebrate just yet.
"We still have to work hard. We have to win at least three more races to be really safe in the championship," said the 79-year-old advisor. Verstappen can be sure of a new world title very early in the year if he wins at Zandvoort and Monza.
