Helmut Marko is perhaps the most important driver of the upcoming Austrian Grand Prix. The top man of Red Bull Racing is doing everything he can to get Formula 1 started again and has high hopes for a race in his own country.
"If we look at the current situation, those first two races are just coming up. The concept of Spielberg has been forwarded to the health organization in Austria and they are now analyzing it. Safety and health is of course paramount, but in my opinion we have to go back to a normal life and that includes sports and spectators'', says Marko to Oe24.tv.

Not so many races in 2020

Marko said earlier that he felt there was still a possibility for a limited number of supporters during the Austrian Grand Prix. But then Marko was whistled back, because the Minister of Austria hadn't thought of this at all and that race without an audience is the only option at the moment.
Formula 1 initially aimed for eighteen races in 2020, but according to Marko that is no longer feasible. ''With a lot of good will we come to ten to fifteen races. That is certainly a championship true, but it does require some of the flexibility of Formula 1. That's why we have to start now, because the sport has to survive first and we need races for that'', concludes Marko.
