Haas driver Kevin Magnussen has hit out at the Formula One for his disqualification after his team's home Grand Prix in the United States, dubbing the sport 'Formula Fuelsaving' as he got disqualified for carrying too much fuel.
The Dane finished in ninth place for the American team but just like Esteban Ocon in eighth, got stripped from his place. Magnussen had filled up his car over the 105 kg limit. A big blow for Haas, especially as the other car of Romain Grosjean didn't finish either, with the Frenchman nailing Charles Leclerc in the first lap and ending his own race.
Renault finished sixth and seventh as well to make matters worse for Haas, extending their lead in fourth place to 22 points with just three places to go. After voicing his disappointment, Magnussen did add that the race itself was good, as he was happy with the tools he was given.
“I would say it was a steady race," he was quoted by Crash.net.

"The car was very good. We had good pace and I was able to put pressure on the Force Indias.
"I passed Perez just after the pit stop and I was faster than Ocon, but I had to save so much fuel that I couldn’t afford to attack him.”
