Qualifying 1 for the Nürburgring Qualifiers was immediately halted by an early crash that forced officials to deploy the red flag.
The #39 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 EVO run by Walkenhorst Motorsport crashed, bringing out the red flag. The driver was unharmed, but the guardrail sustained damage and requirs repairs.

Christian Krognes was at the wheel at the time of the crash, with the red flag dragging on for an extended period and, at the time of writing, lasting over 20 minutes.
At Verstappen’s Winward Racing team, it is not Max Verstappen behind the wheel but his team-mate Lucas Auer, as they wait for the session to resume.
