Tyre manufacturer Pirelli has experienced delays ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix.
For the second weekend in a row, freight delays have affected Formula 1. After the curfew was extended on Thursday ahead of the Australian Grand Prix due to the Middle East conflict, logistical challenges for Pirelli have led to changes this Wednesday as well.
The note by FIA Formula One Race Director Rui Marques reads: "Due to the logistical challenges for the Tyre Supplier resulting from delays in freight arrival, specifically the requirement to revise the fitting schedule for Wednesday, the following concessions will be made: On the Wednesday, and for this Competition only, Restricted Period 1 will be reduced by six (6) hours for a maximum of six (6) operational personnel per Competitor for the sole purpose of tyre preparation post tyre fitting by the Tyre Supplier."

Freight delays for the second year in a row

Last year, the grid also experienced issues in this regard at the Shanghai International Circuit.
McLaren, Mercedes, Red Bull and Aston Martin found themselves in similar situations in 2025.
