Liam Lawson is facing an important year in his career, his first full-time season in Formula 1, which just so happens to be his first year with a top team, Red Bull Racing. Looking on toward the 2025 season, Lawson expects it to be the most difficult year of his career so far.
Driving for Red Bull in your first full-time season in Formula 1, that's not something even Max Verstappen can brag about. For Lawson, though, it is a reality. However, the New Zealander's seat at Red Bull is the one that probably comes with the most pressure out of the whole grid. Indeed, past experience shows that drivers don't always adapt to the Dutchman's speed.
Lawson has one goal in Formula 1
Lawson spoke about his sensations coming into the new season. "I think today it's starting to feel a lot more real. It was the first time I had a confirmed seat going into a season break, so I had a lot more time to sit on it. And honestly, that felt weird because normally I don't really have time to think about it, so it almost didn't feel real for a while. And then basically, coming into today, we're in the simulator a lot more in the next few weeks, so now it's very real."
Prior to the start of his first full F1 season, Lawson looks back on his time in F1 and outlines his main goal for the future.: "We're all here to win. We're all here for that one reason. So, coming into Formula 1, the goal is to do a good job, to obviously move up to the main team, and I've been lucky enough to do that."

Verstappen's new teammate continued, "Obviously I'm a step closer to that goal, but still a very… a lot to achieve before something like that happens. And especially going into a year like this, especially the start of the season, I'm going to a lot of tracks I haven't done before, new team and I think, big expectations, so it's very exciting, but I'm also expecting it to be the toughest year that I've come into," concluded a Lawson on what lies ahead for him next season.
