Lewis Hamilton is well on his way to breaking yet another record

Breaking records in Formula 1 is no strange phenomenon for Lewis Hamilton. The Brit has already equalled Michael Schumacher in winning seven championships and is now well on his way to matching... and perhaps even passing the German yet again.

The record we are talking about is the number of seasons in F1 driven at one team. Schumacher was on the grid from 1996 to 2006 in his Ferrari, a total of eleven seasons. Hamilton has been with Mercedes since 2013 and at the end of the 2023 season, his tally will also be eleven.

Should Hamilton choose to extend his contract once more, the Brit will officially be the new record holder at the end of 2024 with twelve seasons at Mercedes. Whether he will also manage to take his World Championship tally to eight remains to be seen. Last year, Mercedes struggled with technical problems. It remains to be seen whether the German team can compete for the big win this year.
