Lewis Hamilton’s Formula 1 career has gone from struggle to struggle in recent years. Having made the high-profile switch from Mercedes to Ferrari this season, the Briton is still yet to experience the sweetness of a Grand Prix podium in red, let alone a victory. And now, he has been dealt another blow. Neat Burger, the vegan fast-food chain backed by Lewis Hamilton and Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio, has entered liquidation, marking a business setback for the seven-time Formula 1 world champion.

Founded in 2019, Neat Burger expanded rapidly with celebrity backing, opening locations in London, Milan, and New York. However, the chain struggled financially, posting heavy losses including £7.9 million in 2022.
Neat Burger began scaling back in 2023, closing half of its eight London branches after sustained losses.
The last of its UK outlets shut in April 2025, costing around 150 jobs, while its New York restaurant closed in the summer of 2024.
The Camden branch also suffered a blow last year with a low two-star food hygiene rating.
FRP Advisory was appointed liquidator on July 22, drawing a line under the chain’s ambitious but ultimately short-lived bid to disrupt the fast-food industry.
