The Olympics are in full swing this month in Paris. Lewis Hamilton has previously said that he will attend the games to see a friend compete, while Charles Leclerc was part of the torch relay leading up to the games. The Monegasque driver would also like motorsports to be part of the competition in the future.

Leclerc wants to represent Monaco

"It would be great to have motorsport at the Olympics," the Ferrari driver said, although he sees why that could be complicated. "However, I think it's a bit more difficult to organise than other sports because obviously we are all driving for different constructors with different cars in Formula 1. And to be able to have all the same car, you will have to choose, obviously, which route you want to go to, what downforce, what horsepower and everything."
Leclerc continued: "But it's definitely possible." The Ferrari driver also explained why it would mean so much to him to represent his country not only in F1, but also at the Olympics. "I would love to represent Monaco. I'm very proud of being from Monaco. We are very few Monegasques. And it feels good to be representing such a small but beautiful country. So I would love to. But I don't know if there are any plans of that any time soon."
Monaco are yet to win a medal in their Olympic history. This year, seven athletes represent the Principality in Paris.
