As Formula 1 heads to Budapest for the final round before the summer break, Ferrari is looking to build on its recent momentum. Team Principal Fred Vasseur is optimistic following a successful upgrade package in Belgium, while Charles Leclerc is taking a more reserved approach ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix.
The SF-25 showed clear signs of improvement at Spa-Francorchamps, thanks to significant updates brought by the team. With progress in both aerodynamic efficiency and overall balance, Ferrari believes it is moving in the right direction.
“In the last few races we’ve made progress in terms of competitiveness, and in Belgium, thanks to the great work done in Maranello, we introduced an upgrade package that further improved our performance,” said Vasseur. “Before the mandatory summer break, we have one more race to go – the Hungarian Grand Prix – where we want to keep improving.”

A key test at the Hungaroring

Hungary’s twisty, technical circuit presents a completely different challenge from Spa. With its medium and low-speed corners, the Hungaroring will test Ferrari’s updated car in new ways. For Vasseur, it’s an important opportunity to evaluate how adaptable the SF-25 truly is.
“It will be interesting to see how the updated SF-25 performs on a completely different track – narrow, winding, and full of medium and low-speed corners,” he added. “Both Charles and Lewis are in good shape and the team is working well. We want to head into the break with another solid result.” saying that Lewis' crisis has never existed and is only an episode.
Despite the optimism from the team boss, Charles Leclerc is playing it safe when it comes to predicting Ferrari’s performance in Budapest. The Monegasque has experienced enough ups and downs this season to know that caution is wise.

“I’m not sure. I would rather wait before exposing myself,” Leclerc stated when asked about his expectations.
His caution reflects a mindset shaped by recent years at Ferrari—where flashes of brilliance have often been followed by inconsistency. While the updates seem promising, Leclerc wants to see how the SF-25 handles the unique characteristics of the Hungaroring before setting any targets.
For Ferrari, the goal is clear: finish strong before the summer break. With both Leclerc and Hamilton showing solid pace and the team more unified than ever, a good result in Hungary could set the tone for the rest of the 2025 season.
If the SF-25 proves competitive on the tight Budapest circuit, it will be another step in Ferrari’s path back to regular contention at the front. With championship ambitions still in reach, Hungary could mark an important turning point.
