Lando Norris was on course for a career best 5th position until disaster struck on the final lap and his engine failed. The McLaren driver has tried to remain positive and knows that there are people in a worse position after events from the weekend.
"I just lost power," Norris said to Sky Sports. "It's as simple as that! An engine failure or something so not our fault as a team. It's just annoying. It's happened quite a few times now this year, especially when we've had some good results.
"This was going to be a P5, my best result, from P11 on a weekend where we felt like we struggled quite a bit. Other people are in worse situations than I am so I can't be too disappointed with what happened."
There were some positives that Norris took from the weekend.
"I've not been so good on the first few laps so far this year and that was one of the things I was trying to improve on, my lap ones and first turns. I overtook 6 cars into turn 1 so it went well."

Norris will be hoping that he can get a similarly impressive result as the one that could have been this weekend in Monza.
