Lance Stroll says that the main area he needs to improve to become more competitive in F1 is his qualifying. Stroll struggled to escape Q1 on multiple occasions this year, at one point having the longest Q1 knockout streak in the sport.
The Canadian youngster may qualify poorly, but his starts are often lightning-fast, so he is understandably frustrated with missing out on what could be if he qualified higher.
In European F3 in 2016, Stroll took 14 poles from 30 races, so where has the form gone? According to Crash.net, Stroll said: “I think Saturday has been my biggest weakness this year.
"Just a few mistakes in qualifying and stuff. It just put me on the back foot for Sundays. Going into next year that’s an area I want to work on.
"I’ve got to just keep working on a few things."
