Should Formula 1 make a future appearance in the Netherlands, they've already selected their sporting director. Jan Lammers, a former Formula 1 driver will pick up the role should the country be successful in a bid to bring F1 to Zandvoort in 2020.
Lammers took part in a race himself at the Dutch Grand Prix, and representatives have told motorsport to be "honoured" with the fact he will become the sporting director.
However, due to financial issues, Zandvoort may struggle to organise a race with only a few million euros in the budget. Assen, another track in the Netherlands has already indicated they have the financial foundations to complete planning.
The 'orange army' supporting Dutchman Max Verstappen in 2018 became a prominent feature in European races. This included the Austrian Grand Prix in which Verstappen won. These fans perhaps foreshadow what a Dutch Grand Prix would look like.
