Vowles after first day at Williams: 'This opportunity means a lot to me'

Today, Williams posted a video on its social media channels of James Vowles spending his first official day at the factory.

Vowles, who was first chief strategist at Mercedes, replaces Jost Capito at Williams. The Briton is looking forward to the test days starting on Thursday. He sees them as a chance to get to know the new car.

Vowles is also excited about all the staff whom he has already had the 'honour' of meeting at the factory and he is looking forward to meeting the rest too. In any case, emotions are running high with the brand-new team boss: “I really struggle to put into words just how much it means to me, how excited I am, and just really all the emotions that are bubbling inside me at the moment.”

The ordeal is soon to begin for the Briton. Williams finished last in the constructors' championship last year and has been experiencing setbacks for years now. Whether the former Mercedes top man can finally pull the team out of the rubble is the big question.
