Christian Horner has in conversation with Motorsport.com reacted to Ferrari's actions during the Italian Grand Prix. The formation decided to have Charles Leclerc change tyres early in the race, forcing it into a two-stop race. According to Horner, however, it had not changed the situation.
Sebastian Vettel brought out the virtual safety car early in the race, which Ferrari saw as the perfect moment to call Leclerc in for a tyre change. Red Bull Racing, however, decided to let Max Verstappen out, which immediately started to show a difference in strategies.
The Austrian team seemed to have a clear advantage, but Horner believes Ferrari made an understandable decision. However, the team boss states in the interview that Red Bull clearly had the better package at Monza, making the task for Ferrari too great to go for the win.

Binotto stays behind decision

Mattia Binotto said his team realised early on in the race that it did not have the same speed as Verstappen and had to change strategy. As a result, they decided to have Leclerc change tyres early on, but it did not ultimately bring the desired result.
