The Belgian Grand Prix was marked by something that has never been seen before in the history of Formula 1. After hours of waiting due to heavy rainfall, race control decided to start the 'race' and end it two laps later behind the safety car.
There were no highlights. Sunday was mainly a low point, which was heralded by the crash of Sergio Perez in the practice lap. He will have wished he had gone home after all, because the long wait has been for nothing.

Verstappen wins the race on Saturday

The race turned out to be on Saturday. Max Verstappen drove himself cleverly to pole position, which ultimately gave him victory. There was a highlight for one person though: George Russell qualified in an amazing second position and therefore got his first-ever podium with Williams.
The most positive thing of the day was already mentioned by the drivers: the fans, who despite waiting all day in the rain and cold for nothing, still managed to keep the atmosphere up.
