Nicholas Latifi was given a hard time in recent months. The Canadian unintentionally played a major role in the fight for the world title between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, after which fans of the Brit decided to threaten him. Latifi, however, is proud of the support he received.
Hamilton was the better on the day at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and seemed to be driving gloriously to his eighth world title. However, things changed at the end of the race when Latifi drove hard into the wall and a yellow flag caused many changes. Verstappen used the situation to his advantage and eventually managed to win.

Latifi received a lot of support after Abu Dhabi

Immediately after the race, Latifi already noticed that people were not at all happy about his accident. The driver received nasty messages on social media and felt anxious for a while. He even hired security to prevent problems. However, it strengthened him that he received a lot of support from the Formula 1 world, including Lewis Hamilton.
"A few days after Abu Dhabi, he sent me a message," Latifi let Speedweek.com know. "People from Mercedes also got in touch, plus other drivers and team members from other racing teams. My words touched them, because this was not the first time that social networks were abused for such threats."
