Hamilton: 'I don’t ever want to be one of those drivers that does that'

Lewis Hamilton is still under contract with Mercedes until the end of 2023. Although he does not exclude that he will continue in Formula 1 in a year and a half, the end of his career is coming closer. After his career, Hamilton intends not to speak negatively about drivers in Formula 1, he told Viaplay.
The seven-time world champion experienced a lot in his Formula 1 period. Not only did he manage to equal Michael Schumacher's world title record, but he also experienced less successful years at McLaren and Mercedes. These did not sit well with him.
Because Hamilton knows better than anyone what criticism can do to a driver, he does not want to be the person who criticises other drivers in the future. "I’ll always want to be someone that’s being positive to whichever drivers that are here," the Briton stated. "Good or bad, because you know how difficult it is to start."

Hamilton wants to focus on positivity

Hamilton intends to take up other things after his career. While he says he will continue to follow Formula 1, there seems only a small chance Hamilton will take on a role as an analyst and be critical in it. "I don’t ever want to be one of those drivers that does that, because we’ve experienced that," he said.
