The 75-year-old who appeared on the Radio Rai program "La politica nel pallone” explained how complicated modern-day Formula 1 is, while also expressing optimism about how the sweeping changes of 2026 will yield a positive outcome for Hamilton and the Ferrari outfit.
“Sooner or later, he'll solve the problems. He's a very good person, but F1 is very complicated today, with seven cars within two tenths of a second. This year, the only truly competitive team is McLaren."
"Next year, everything will change, and we'll be fighting for the podium too. You'll see, with the new cars, Hamilton will be back in the fight for victory; he's always great."
Hamilton, who made a switch to the Ferrari team, has largely endured a torrid start to his chapter at the Maranello-based outfit. The seven-time champion during the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend labelled himself as ‘useless’.

Fred Vasseur has also witnessed his leadership of the Ferrari team come under question, with former chairman, Luca Montemozelo delivery a scathing assessment of the leadership of the team under the 57-year-old.

Briatore about joining Scuderia Ferrari

Flavio Briatore was also quizzed about the possibility of joining Scuderia Ferrari. The Alpine chief, however, was quick to discard the possibility of such happening.
“I already have my own problems, I've only been close to Ferrari in the garage… No one ever asked me to go to Ferrari, but I know that when I was at Benetton, Ferrari had to take 12 or 13 people away from me to win, starting with Michael Schumacher."
"Luca di Montezemolo was and is a great manager with extraordinary leadership, but even he had to wait five years to win; it was never easy.”
Briatore is currently saddled with the management of the Alpine team. The Enstone-based outfit is, however, currently last in the constructors’ championship. The septugenrain has expressed optimism about his team returning to glory with the changes set to herald Formula 1.
