Mercedes provided a huge shock with George Russell taking pole position for the Hungarian Grand Prix. But on the other side of the garage, Lewis Hamilton will have to start from P7 on the grid. The seven-time World Champion had a car issue and couldn't set a good lap in the final run of Q3.

Mercedes result

Toto Wolff was back his jokey self in front of the cameras, and Russell was over the moon to get his first pole position. Despite the lesser result, Hamilton remained extremely pleased for his team to get P1 on a Saturday.
"Congratulations to George. It's a great result for the team, considering all we've been through. It's huge," Hamilton told Sky Sports.
Hamilton explained why he wasn't able to join his new teammate on the front row. "Tried to open the DRS and it wouldn't open. Unfortunate. I was feeling great, for sure front-row was there. Would've been awesome to get front-row for the team. But these things happen," he added.
