Haas passes chassis test and can move forward with car development

Haas has passed the FIA's crash test, the team announced on Twitter. The chassis and nose have been approved and may officially be used for the development of the 2023 car. Haas is the first team to announce it has passed this test.

Before a new season, each team must first do a crash test on various parts of the car to make sure it is safe to send that car onto the track. The American racetrack was quick to do so and was the first to announce it had passed the test. That these parts have been approved also means they may now be used in further tests ahead of next season. As the team itself puts it, "A significant landmark in the development of our 2023 car".

It will be some time before the approved parts can be seen in action. The next time cars will officially appear on track is during the winter tests at the Bahrain circuit, between 23 and 25 February. A week later, Bahrain will also host the first race of the season. Before then, though, the various teams will already present their cars. When that will happen has not yet been announced.
