Grosjean gets farewell in Formula 1 car after all

Romain Grosjean will almost certainly return to a Formula 1 car for a while. There were already rumours that the Frenchman would participate in a private test, but now Netflix producer James Gay-Rees confirms that it is coming.
Grosjean drove for Haas for five seasons between 2016 and 2020, surviving a serious crash at the end of last season. The driver drove hard into the wall, after which his car caught fire. To the relief of those present, Grosjean managed to escape the conflagration, but he had to miss the last two Grands Prix. As Haas decided to renew its drivers for the 2021 season, it was immediately Grosjean's last race.
This season, Grosjean made the switch to the IndyCar Series, but the fierce goodbye didn't sit well with him. He then hinted at a temporary return to Formula 1 to relive the feeling of driving a Formula 1-car one more time. It didn't matter to him which team this would be. Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff then let slip that he would like to give Grosjean the opportunity to do so at Mercedes.

Grosjean fits seat

Gay-Rees says to The Fast Lane Podcast that Grosjean has now fitted his seat for the test drive. He stated: "We filmed Grosjean trying on his seat for his last Formula One appearance." For now, we can't be sure that this was at Mercedes, but all signs do point in this direction.
