Charles Leclerc's Friday went better than he had previously hoped, but states there's margin for improvement, should Ferrari be able to come to terms with their grip struggles at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
The Monegasque finished FP1 in P4 and FP2 in P5. How does he describe his first day of on-track action in Spain?
"It has been a more positive day than we had expected," said Leclerc to F1TV.

Ferrari's struggles do not dampen Leclerc's spirits ahead of qualifying in Spain

Nevertheless, there are some challenges that Ferrari needs to overcome if they are to vy for the podium, or perhaps even the win, as it seems their long run pace is good enough to challenge at the top.
"It’s very hot on track, which makes things a bit trickier, with the grip not being as good as we’d like it to be."
But Leclerc, is not all too concerned regarding this, as there's more speed in his Ferrari. Although unlocking it, will be no easy feat.
"There is more performance in the car and I hope we will unlock some more ahead of tomorrow’s qualifying. There’s still quite a bit of work ahead of us, but we don’t seem to be too far off, so we will focus on a few key areas this evening to extract what we can."
