Max Verstappen says he is sad to see the German Grand Prix leave the F1 calendar as the race at Hockenheim is not to be staged in 2020. The 2019 race in Germany was voted as the race of the decade in a poll recently and fans are not happy that F1 will no longer be visiting the country.
Verstappen took victory in one of the most chaotic races in recent memory as several drivers crashed out in wet weather conditions.
The future of the German GP has been in doubt for a while now, ever since the Nurburgring ran into financial difficulties and stopped sharing the race with Hockenheim, which caused problems in itself.
Verstappen told Auto Zeitung that the race in Germany would be missed: "Absolutely. I drove there in Formula 3 and have good memories there. Germany has such a long Formula 1 history, so many manufacturers. It is really a big loss for Formula 1"
