Pierre Gasly is enjoying an excellent season and is currently in eighth place in the World Championship. The AlphaTauri driver has battled with Ferrari and McLaren almost every race, a success he is proud of.
It's not enough for Gasly though, as he hopes to further improve his level in the coming years. "My personal goal, motivation, is to fight for victories. At the end of the day, it’s not interesting to fight for P8/P10 your entire career, that’s not what I want. Maybe we’ll see how things are improving with AlphaTauri," he explained in conversation with Motorsportmagazine.com.
"At the end of the day, I really want a competitive car. I’m working really hard to be a very complete driver," he continued. "And I think that’s what I’m showing on track, I’m fighting with Ferrari, with McLaren even, consistently, performing in qualifying and in the races, and I think I’m showing very good potential."

Gasly remains option for Red Bull

Red Bull Racing reportedly have Gasly's name on the list as a possible replacement for Sergio Pérez. The Mexican has been driving for the Austrians since this season, but while he has shown glimpses of promise, he has not been doing as well as previously hoped.
