This weekend is all about the boycott against hate on Social Media. After Lewis Hamilton, now also Lando Norris and George Russell have announced that they will not mention anything on social channels this weekend.
The use of online platforms has brought the world's population closer together. With all the media, it's easier nowadays than ever before to connect with each other, but that also has a downside. Behind their safe screens, people sometimes say more than they would say in real life, and this causes a lot of negative reactions on Social Media.

Norris and Russell support Hamilton

This weekend a number of drivers have indicated that they will not share anything on their platforms. In Formula 1 Hamilton is, not for the first time, the leader in this action. He decided early on not to post anything this weekend to draw attention to the negative reactions that are continuously posted on social media.
After Hamilton, now also Russell, Norris and Formula 1 have joined in this idea. Max Verstappen said earlier that he is not that worried about it. The Dutchman doesn't like the negative reactions and avoids all social channels in his own time.
