Jean Alesi has clarified to Corriere the fireworks incident he had with his brother-in-law. He reportedly set fire to his architect's office, but according to the former Formula 1 driver, this story is not entirely true.
Alesi's sister and his former brother-in-law broke up several years ago, followed by a long period during which the name of his sister's ex did not fall. However, when he drove past his property with fireworks, he and his friends could not resist throwing fireworks in the direction of the place.
"It was a big misunderstanding," Alesi explained in the interview. "We were in the car with friends and we said, 'Let's try it'. So I threw it there in front of that architect's studio, but I didn't expect it to make such a bang. And that it could do so much damage."

Alesi decided to turn himself in

Alesi was shocked by the damage he caused, so the next day he decided to go to the police to give himself up. This was because he reportedly wanted to prevent the latter from thinking that Alesi's brother was behind it. After a short interrogation, the police decided to let him go, but according to Alesi that didn't happen before they had talked extensively about Formula 1.
