After qualifying for the Bahrain Grand Prix, Carlos Sainz seemed to have been given a grid penalty for replacing parts because he dropped out in the second part of qualifying. Fortunately, the Spaniard did not have to replace any parts, so the result of qualifying is also the starting position of the race.
Lewis Hamilton will start from pole position with his teammate Valtteri Bottas next to him. Behind them are the two Red Bull Racing drivers, with Max Verstappen ahead of Alexander Albon. P5 and P6 are Sergio Perez and Daniel Ricciardo. Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly complete the fourth row of the grid and Lando Norris and Daniil Kvyat finish the top ten.

Ferrari free choice of tyres

The first two drivers with free choice of tyres are the two drivers from Ferrari, with Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc. Lance Stroll had a disappointing qualifying session and has to start from thirteenth position. George Russell had a good qualifying and will start from P14. Carlos Sainz starts from P15, because of the problems he had in the second part of qualifying.
