Ferrari can count on support: 'Negativity brings nothing good'

Ferrari has had an eventful first half of the season. While the Italian team started the year very well, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were unable to continue their progress. According to Jean Alesi, however, the fans must continue to support the team, the former Formula One driver told Corriere Della Sera.
Alesi was under contract to Ferrari for many years between 1991 and 1995, so he has a strong bond with the Italians. The Frenchman therefore hopes that Ferrari will be able to bounce back themselves soon and hopes that the fans will give them a helping hand.
"Passion consists of strong feelings," Alesi said. "We can analyse the race to try to understand the how and why. But that is not necessary now. What is needed is rather an invitation from me to persevere, to be supportive, not destructive. Because negativity brings nothing good, ever."

Confidence in Ferrari's qualities

Although Alesi admits he also regrets the way this year's Hungarian Grand Prix went for Ferrari, he expects the squad to bounce back quickly. Whether that will be enough to close the gap on Max Verstappen is debatable as the difference between the Dutchman and Leclerc is 80 points.
