Kimi Anotnelli made Formula 1 history by becoming the youngest driver to take pole position at the Chinese Grand Prix, ahead of teammate George Russell and Lewis Hamilton.
The young Italian beat his teammate by two-tenths, with Russell hampered by an engine issue at the beginning of Q3, meaning he could only complete one lap before the chequered flag fell.
The Brit did enough to get into P2 with an impressive lap under the circumstances, finishing two-tenths clear of Hamilton, who rounded out the top three.

Behind the seven-time World Champion was teammate Charles Leclerc, while the two McLarens of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris finished P5 and P6, respectively.
Pierre Gasly was the best of the rest in P7 for Alpine with another great qualifying session, doing enough to outpace Max Verstappen in the Red Bull, who could only come in P8.
Isack Hadjar and Oliver Bearman rounded out the top ten.
