Enzo Trulli secures Formula 4 title in final race of the season

Enzo Trulli, the son of former Formula 1 driver Jarno Trulli, has captured the United Arab Emirates Formula 4 title. He did so at the expense of Dutch driver Dilano van 't Hoff, who started the weekend as championship leader.

It came down to the very last race of the season, Motorsport.com reports. The 16-year old Van 't Hoff managed to take five victories and another six podiums in the first sixteen races, but in the final weekend, it was Trulli who came out on top.

Initially, the Dutchman managed to stay ahead of Trulli, but eventually, Trulli made a successful overtaking attempt to take third place. Van 't Hoff scored an extra point by setting the fastest lap but was unable to overtake Trulli.

For the 15-year old Trulli, this was enough to secure the title, with only a one-point lead in the championship. Both drivers have just made the switch from karting to Formula 4, for which they will be back in action later this year in the Spanish F4 Championship.
