Drivers want more say in F1 rules

The drivers on the grid are becoming more disgruntled about being left out of the rule-making process. Formula One is set to change aero regulations for the 2019 season with simplified front wings the focus in the hopes of aiding overtaking. Drivers however remain sceptical of the changes.

Sebastian Vettel has perhaps been the most vocal of the drivers about the changes and the process behind them, saying that the drivers need to be included far more than they are currently and that they are only listened to so the FIA can 'tick boxes'.

"In a way it’s good that we’re not making the rules because it’s not our job, we might not have enough of an idea," Vettel said.

“Slowed down by one-and-a-half seconds, does that really help? I think there are some changes you can do to the aero without making the cars slower, that would probably help overtaking.”
