The W Series this season was a huge success and David Coulthard now wants the women only series to follow Formula 1 to help build it's profile globally. This season the W Series was mainly European and was part of the DTM program but following the FOrmula 1 circus would add to the sport massively.
"We have to look at it step by step because there are some financial restrictions, but we hope to be able to announce that we will be present at a number of Grand Prix," Coulthard told Reuters."That would be a great, but also a logical option."
Catherine Bon Muir, the founder of the championship, also indicated in August that the calendar for next season is likely to be extended by two races, but that both will take place in Europe. For an intercontinental calander, the series might have to wait until at least 2021.
