'Cowell one of 50 employees to make switch from Mercedes to Red Bull'

Red Bull Racing is striking a big blow in the market. Around 50 new engineers are said to be coming over from Mercedes and a total of 300 to 350 new employees will be recruited for the Red Bull Powertrains project.

From Mercedes to Red Bull

For the new engine program, Red Bull is looking hard for new employees. By 2022, the team's new factory should be ready and from 2025, it will start building its own engines in Milton Keynes.
Auto, Motor und Sport says that the recruitment for the team is going well. Many employees will be taken from Honda, but a lot of engineers will be recruited from Mercedes as well. Six names have already been announced. According to Horner there will be a total of 50 engineers coming to Red Bull from Mercedes. The most important name is Andy Cowell.

New engines from 2025 onwards

From 2025 there will be new rules about engines, therefore the engines should be a lot cheaper. The new rules should be approved in the summer of 2021.
