Horner almost 'disappointed' in Verstappen: 'That did surprise me!'

Max Verstappen was victorious at Belgium's Spa-Francorchamps. The Dutchman started from P6 this time and was back in the lead within 20 laps. Team boss Christian Horner thought it was still a long time, he joked to GPblog and others.
It seems to make little difference at the moment from which position the Dutchman starts his race. Verstappen is extra cautious at the start and starts his advance after the first lap. One by one, he passes his opponents on his way to victory in the Grand Prix. Earlier this year, he did the same trick in Miami, having started from P9. Last year at Spa, Verstappen made it even bolder by driving to victory from P14.

'Beyond wildest imagination'

"I was surprised it took him so long to get to the front to be honest with you," Horner said with a smile. "But honestly all jokes aside I thought he drove an incredible race today. His pace obviously in the first stint, passing the cars that he did, he did a great job to get up to P2 and then after the stop his race really came alive on the medium tyre where he showed incredible speed and Checo obviously didn't defend too hard because of the speed difference between the two of them and thereafter it was about managing the rest of the race."
Red Bull and Verstappen's success is still not getting used to the Briton:"[It is] phenomenal to go into the summer break unbeaten in both Grand Prix's and sprints and I think it's beyond everybody's wildest imagination to be sitting in this position now."
