Lewis Hamilton's third-place finish and Valtteri Bottas' victory at the Japanese Grand Prix, helped wrapped up a sixth consecutive Constructors' Championship but can the aforementioned wrap up the drivers' top prize at the next race in Mexico?
Well the answer is simple, yes he can and the result on Sunday morning also means that Mercedes are guaranteed a drivers and constructors double for the sixth season in a row.
Hamilton leads his teammate Valtteri Bottas by 64 going into the Mexican Grand Prix in two weeks time. With a maximum of 78 points available from the final three races, Hamilton would need to beat the Finn by 14 points to guarantee a third consecutive title.
If the Brit finishes first and achieves the fastest lap, Bottas would need to finish fourth to crown Lewis champion again. If this was the case Hamilton would win the title on the virtue of winning more races, a feat his Mercedes teammate cannot match in the remaining races. If Bottas finishes tenth or fails to score any points the minimum would require would be a P3 finish.
