Valtteri Bottas was one of three drivers who were caught out during a crazy FP2 session ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver flew into the wall almost immediately after the stewards waved the green flags following Max Verstappen's crash.
Bottas, who finished the session in 2nd, reported he was ok after a pretty heavy crash.
“All ok. I just lost the rear end suddenly into Turn Five. Very unexpected, made a correction, but it was a bit too late," he said in a conversation with Sky Italia.
“This afternoon is a bit more windy and the track is very penalising on making mistakes. It can happen I guess.”
The drama wasn't completed after Bottas went into the wall. Sebastian Vettel also spun around, but he managed to avoid the barriers.
