It has been reported that Alonso could be testing for McLaren in the winter tests in Barcelona.
Fernando Alonso retired from Formula 1 last season and has already made the most of opportunities to race in different cars. Last weekend the Spaniard won the Daytona 24 and he will be hoping to continue this form into the Indy 500 where he will look to complete the triple crown.
Spanish sports newspaper, Marca, reported that Alonso could appear behind the wheel in McLaren's winter testing.
"It seems that Alonso will test for half a day, but it is not known if it will happen in the first week or the second," said correspondent Marco Canseco as quoted by GPFans.
Zak Brown has made it clear that although Alonso would be a great asset to have at the team, the two drivers that they have for 2019 are more than competent.

"Obviously Fernando's an immense talent with a tremendous amount of experience," he said. "Of course we'll miss him in the garage but we have two outstanding talents."
Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris are the two drivers tasked with bringing McLaren back to the top of Formula 1, and they will hope that the testing in Barcelona is the start to this.
