Fernando Alonso is looking ahead to the new season with enthusiasm. The Spaniard is entering his first season with Aston Martin and expects a lot from the partnership. He even thinks the team will be able to compete for the world title within a few years.
Alonso won two world championships early in his career, but after 2006 he failed to repeat the trick. However, at the age of 41, the driver still has ambitions to take another top prize of the year.
With his move to Aston Martin, Alonso is showing his belief in the team's project. The British formation hopes to get among the top teams in the coming years, although it will have to work hard to do so. "Aston Martin is one of the teams who can achieve this in two, three years," Alonso confidently stated to Motorsportweek.com.

Crucial decision for Alonso

The driver left Alpine after last season and thought carefully beforehand about his next step. Indeed, Alonso is looking realistically at the coming years. "It’s important at my age. I don’t have eternity ahead of me," said Lance Stroll's new teammate. In 2022, Aston Martin finished seventh in the constructors' championship.
